Farm

In addition to providing outdoor and academic experiences for students throughout the year, Chewonki also houses a working 25-acre organic farm on its property. Throughout the week, the farm staff, along side the Chewonki facilitators, will teach BC students about farm operations, show them around the property, and help them make connections between the farm's mission and students' current science unit about climate change. Students will also have an opportunity to get their hands dirty and to do some farming themselves! The food they help to cultivate will be eaten by future school groups during their adventures.
